Fully-functional prototype of a heartbeat-driven backpack light [2013]

A heartbeat sensor clips on to the wearer's earlobe and sends biometric data to a microcontroller inside the backpack. Each time the wearer's heart beats, an animation is displayed on an LED screen that shines through the back panel of the backpack. The whole system is self-contained and will run on battery-power for approximately 12 hours, depending on the type of animations that are displayed.
